Notes Birthday hillwalk with my new merino underlayer & socks! Started off with a cool breeze, a little cloudy but dry. Walked up the slope to Sron Gharbh which was mushy and soggy. Didn't need to drink too much water as it wasn't hot. When it got up to the ridge it started to rain but nothing too bad. We stopped for lunch just before the summit of An Caisteal and could see a big rain cloud in the distance... 5 minutes later it was aggressively snowing / hailing. We worked our way down the mountain and after 10 minutes the hail stopped but left Jess with sausage fingers.

Rest of the walk was relatively easy, good views at the top of Beinn a’ Chròin, especially of Stob Binnein. Walk back to the car was mostly through horrible boggy ground but the sun was out and made things easier!
