Notes Walked as part of our NC500 30th birthday trip, initially setting off from Tongue campsite after a night in a tent. The road in was incredibly potholed and we initially drove past it due to building going on at Hope town confusing us about the route. Wore new hiking trousers from Decathlon which were good. Amazing weather for time of year, a mix of cloud and sun. Lots of small waterfalls and swimholes to start with but then opens up to be a bit more rocky.

We stopped semi-regularly on the way up and eventually made it to the top without any real problems. An American couple left as we arrived. Put an Easter egg on the trig point and took a few photos, then went in the rock windbreak for lunch (LIDL hog sausage rolls, flapjacks, chocolate, cashews…). Walk back down was uneventful, a few couples were coming on the way up and we were overtaken by a woman with her dog after we lay down on a sunning rock.

Eventually back to the car where it was still nice and warm then continued on to our pod cabin near Sango / Smoo cave for a nice warm shower!
